TEACHING
Four core language skills, plus one.
Our school offers a range of Italian language and culture courses, focused on the acquisition of four basic language skills: listening comprehension, reading, writing and speaking; the students of our school acquire a fifth: ability to understand and use non-verbal language and Italian communication codes, dealing with topics closely related to Italian culture and the lifestyle and nature of Italians.
Our Italian language courses are designed to gradually reach the language skills of understanding, expression, reading and writing, and deepening historical and artistic aspects through visits to the places of the city together with teachers.

METHOD
Communicating feelings, thoughts and ideas.
The teaching methodology is based on the communicative approach, for interactive learning centered on the student and based on content.
The communication approach emphasizes the ability to communicate the message according to its meaning, instead of focusing exclusively on grammatical perfection or phonetics. Therefore, the understanding of the second language is evaluated according to the development by students of their own communication skills and skills.
Listening comprehension
Development of written and oral understanding through readings, vision of films and listening to songs, notions of Italian culture and local customs.
Vocabulary and grammar
Intensive study of grammar and phonetics, acquisition of generic and specific lexical terms, with attention to idiomatic expressions and phraseology.
Syntax
Detailed study of syntax.
TEACHING MATERIALS
Course books and authentic materials
To the basic text, our teachers add material from a wide bibliography that includes texts published by specialist Italian publishers, so that every grammatical, lexical and syntactic subject is proposed to students with the best teaching material currently available.
As regards the development of understanding and communication skills and cultural insights, we use texts from newspaper articles and magazines, novels and essays, Italian films (projected strictly in the original language), songs; on these materials our teachers set sessions of written understanding, oral, guided discussions and free conversations.
OUR TEACHERS
Experience, qualification, availability
All teachers who teach in our school are native Italian speakers, graduates in language-related disciplines, in possession of a qualification in teaching Italian as a foreign language and specific experience acquired over the years; teachers who accompany students on the two free excursions scheduled each month are also qualified as licensed tour guides.
Each day course is followed by two teachers to offer students a variety of styles, languages and topics. Evening courses are followed by only one teacher per class. For specialist courses, we select teachers who have, in addition to the qualifications listed above, also specific skills related to the nature of the individual specialist course.
